The manufacturing sector is a major contributor to any country's economic competitiveness, as it drives further activity in other sectors. Nida Upchurch obtained her Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Science Research University, Ashland. Her research interests are in mechanical engineering, manufacturing automation, manufacturing systems engineering, plant facilities, quality engineering and safety engineering. She has served as a Guest Lecturer at several universities across America and Europe. Upchurch has authored and edited a number of articles, journal papers and major book chapters in the field of manufacturing process and engineering.
